Take Away Line @ Kebab Majal

I've never seen a restaurant with such a complete lack of structure for order-taking/service/payment... its a madhouse in there every night... and the line is an eavesdroppers paradise...

Houseboat Afternoons

In middle school Biko and I used to walk down the hill to his houseboat after school and spend the afternoons either doing our homework or pretending to... but I seem to remember us always having some sort of project out. My mom would come in the evening to pick me up but she'd always stay and chat with his dad for a while and we'd end up staying for dinner much of the time. These are some of my fondest memories of our younger friendship.
I recently found this photo and felt the need to draw it in my journal.

Sunday Poker

Sunday is the big day in the online poker world--more tournaments, more players, bigger prizepools, and waaaaaaaaaaay more hours of play if you can handle it. I'm always scribbling down random numbers and tournaments names and money transfers throughout the day to keep track of everything... and I think the notes end up looking pretty interesting. Here's some from yesterday.

Just Another Monk Playing Pool

when i was in SE Asia last summer one of my favorite visuals was to see the monks doing unexpected things--like hitching a ride on the back of a motorbike or shooting some pool. the source image for this drawing is actually from a photo my friend Jackson took. He's a fantastic photographer, I highly recommend checking out his site... http://www.jacksonsolway.com/

Raised by Raindrops & Asphalt

The following images are from my recent exhibition "Raised by Raindrops & Asphalt." The opening was on April 2nd, at HeeBee JeeBees Gallery in Colorado Springs, where the work will be on display through the end of May.

Thank you to all my friends and family who came out to support me that night, I really had a blast seeing everyone come together, party, and check out the art!

As for those of you who missed it (sorry I had a show in a random, distant state) I finally got it together to put some of my new work online so you can see what I've been up to. Enjoy, and let me know what you think...
